Klarinette

Ernst Ottensamer was born in 1955 in Austria. He studied clarinet at the Universitiy of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna.

1979 he became the clarinetist in the orchestra of the Vienna State Opera. Since 1983 he is a soloist at the Vienna Philharmonics.

1986he began his teaching activity at the University of Music in Vienna and he was appointed to an University Professor  in the year 2000.

He established several chamber music ensembles: Wiener Virtuosen, Wiener Bläserensemble, Wiener Solisten Trio.

He held concerts as chamber musician with the Alban Berg Quartett, the Artis Quartett, the Hugo Wolf Quartett, Sir Simon Rattle, Sir André Previn, Daniel Barenboim, Oleg Maisenberg, Rudolf Buchbinder, Stefan Vladar, Julian Rachlin, Mischa Maisky, Edita Gruberova, Angelika Kirchschlager and Juliane Banse and solo concerts with the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, the Vienna Chamber Orchestra, the Budapest Philharmonic Orchestra,  Mozarteum Orchestra Salzburg, the Bruckner Orchestra Linz, the Gächinger Kantorei and the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of  Zubin Mehta, Sándor Végh, Helmuth Rilling, Leopold Hager, Simone Young, Yukata Sado  oder  Sir Colin Davis.
